At about 9.30 am today the building inspector comes to check how we installed our shutters. When he checked the FL number on the shutters we realise that we got the wrong documents for our shutters. Fortunately that is not a big problem as Maria knows how to download the right paperwork from the website of the "Florida Building Code Online". She just prints the papers and presents them to the inspector. |

In connection with the shutters the inspector checks the breaker box, too. He criticises that there is not any lock out at the breaker for the shutters. As the shutters are external and work with a motor it has to be possible to put a padlock over the breaker in the "off" position when they are worked on.
Juergen instantly drives to an electrical specialty store to buy such a breaker lock out. But for tandem breakers such lock outs are not available. Juergen has to make one himself!
While checking the breaker box the inspector notices that the tandem breaker for the dishwasher and the disposal unit may be switched off independently of each other. As both appliances are connected to the same (double) socket that is not allowed. But it is acceptable if Juergen connects both breakers with a little screw for example (proposed by the inspector). |

"Today I'll take my little hammer ..."
One should better speak of a big hammer looking at the hammer drill or the demolition hammer which Juergen uses today to knock out the wall between the addition and the front room!
