, our roofer, will come this morning to make our roof waterproof.
Unfortunately he will only be able to put the self-adhesive tar paper on the plywood and nothing else as his crew forgot their complete set of tool at another building site in Port Charlotte. Even a ladder and a hammer has to be supplied by us.
As the pitch of the house roof was wrong in the original set of plans (4/12 instead of 5/12) we have to go to the city to apply for a revision with the corrected plans.
The fees for the revision are $ 96,- and it will take about 10 days to get reviewed.
We found an alternative way to mount the shutters to the wall in the official engineered installation instructions. We like to speak with him if a slightly changed way of mounting is according to code.

Angle-mounted tracks but the tracks and the box have to be installed within the opening which is not feasible for us: |
Our idea is to install the angle around the edge and screw the tracks onto the angle: |

The inspector cannot accept this solution as a. it is not dwscribed like this in the engineering instructions b. and the tracks are not supported on the inside. |
There is no way around it: we have to order new shutters!
As most of the day is over anyway Juergen decides to start with the insulation installation:
