March 2nd: Sheathing inspection (Sheathing 021)

Kent, our building inspector, will have check if the OSB boards are nailed correctly to the trusses.

He finds a few spots where juergen missed the wood. Overall he is satisfied with his work and signs on the permit.

But ...

... he is not happy with the way how we fixed the shutter tracks to the wall. We did not follow the engineering instructions and screwed the tapcon screws to near to the edge of the wall.

Though we tell him we would like to have the tracks as near to the window as possible unfortunately he is not open to discussions as he has to follow the rules.

Later on Maria has a look into the inspection documentation and sees that he even has put a remark into the shutter inspection document.

We have to find another way for fixing the shutters to the wall as we would like to keep the shutters where they are at the moment!

And we are sure that we found an alternative. We just have to convince Kent. We will give it a try within the next days.
