February 27th: Exchanging the breaker box

Today is another early day.

will come to replace the main lines and the breaker box.

Since the Florida Building Code was changed in 2010 it is mandatory to have two grounds per house. We thought it would be sufficient to put in a second ground but the inspector comes by in the morning to check on Leonardo and informs him that the old ground has to be replaced as it is too damaged by the soil. Two new ones have to be installed.
Juergen and Patrick help with hammering the rods about 8 feet deep into the ground.

Leonardo still has enough work to do with our cable chaos:

Here you can see the culprit which sparks as soon as you put heavier load on the line like using the a/c or the water heater:

the new box he has labeled each cable
with the number of the old breaker:
