March 10th: (... continuing the) Electrical installation

Still working on the cables.

As the distance between the lamps and the first nail clamp on the wood is bigger than 6" it is necessary to stabilize the cable from the lamps separately by cable clamps (grombits) though the lamps have their own locking mechanism which is very strong!

Another rule which in our opinion is debatable but to be on the sure side we buy these clamps and Juergen installs them:

And then there comes another hurdle: the electrical boxes which have to be installed on top of the insulation boards are a bit too high.
How do we make sure that

1. they do not stick out of the drywall
and
2. the insulation boards are not damaged?

We are afraid to run into problems during the inspection when we cut a hole into the insulation boards.

who did our energy calculation. He tells her not to worry as a little bit of missing insulation would not effect the overall R value and that it is usually done that way without any problems he knows of so far.

Juergen tries if it is possible just to pull the screws a bit tighter to the walls to gain a little bit of space. And it works!

Installed electrical box:

As per NEC and Florida Building Code the cables have to be installed with a minimum edge distance to the furring strips and inside of metal pipes to avoid accidents:
