March 23rd: Frame Rough Inspection

Today a building inspector will come and do the frame rough inspection. We are a bit queasy about that. He checks minutely how we installed the windows, compares it to the manufacturer's installation instructions and inspects if Patrick and Juergen have been following these instructions. The casement window and the patio doors are OK but the archtop windows have to be fixed more securely. Nevertheless he still signs on the permit! |

March 23rd: Corrections
The inspector asks us
- to readjust the installation clips to ensure that there is not any gap between window and frame work and all angles are 90°, i.e. shims have to be inserted
and, - put some screws through the window frames into the framework as the distances between the pre-installed clips are bigger than allowed in the manufacturer's installation instructions.
Especially number 2 we are reluctant to follow as you will be able to see those screws in the beautiful wood frame!
