March 26th: Wall insulation (... continued)
Today the last pieces of insulation board are put up and glued together with aluminum tape. That is to make sure the insulation is absolutely airtight.
He cannot continue with the furring strips as the hammer drill might shake the walls too much and cause cracks in the new stucco.
Here you can see how every last bit of the door's framework is covered by insulation board:
The same with all windows. The insulation around the bottom of the archtop windows is a bit to wide. Juergen has to scrape a bit off and seal it again with aluminum tape. Otherwise the window sill would not fit:
