Around lunch John, our stucco guy, comes by to repair the stucco around the patio door.
Unfortunately mark has passed on only half the information to him. The area over the door has to be corrected, too. And as Juergen and John move the "shutter frame" (tracks and box) Juergen realises that a large part of the stucco over the door is crooked and some of it is even hollow!
John states as that is much more than Mark has sent him to work on we need to get an OK from his boss.
After several tries we manage to get Mark on the phone. He reacts surly when we inform him that there is more work than planned for John. But we follow his instruction to check with a hammer for loose stucco. John is allowed to repair all the parts Juergen manages to knock down. He cannot remember that he promised yesterday to come around, too, of course. The earliest for himself to come would be the beginning of next week!
John is pretty upset now, too, as he did not plan to do that much. His poor car is the recipient of his anger.
But then he starts eventually.
Firstly he has to sand down a lot of stucco on the right of the patio door. That means we have to close all doors and windows on this side of the house to keep the dust out.
Juergen knocks down the loose stucco himself:
(orange = sounding hollow / pink = to be sanded down)
John at work:
John was not planning to put protective foil over the door. Only as we informed him about the price of the doors($ 3,000) he got the foil out of his car. He did not even bring some tarp for the floor.
After John has left Juergen needs most of the afternoon to clean up everything!
