Entrance
(outside and inside)
Despite being all onn the same level there are still single steps all over the place. We had the aim to get rid of all of those. It was the same here: 1 step directly in front of the door the other one under the arch:

Besides getting rid of any steps we demolished the screen around the little porch.
Of course we did not fancy having any insects in the house but the left side of the screen was damaged and the screen door was to the side which caused us to step into the flower bed instead on the path. Furthermore the owner had installed a rectangle screen and door within a round arch, not very noce to look at.
First we thought about repairing the damages and replacing the front with an arched door but in the end we decided for a porch without screen as it took away a lot of light, too.
Nevertheless we changed the area to a more colourful look.
Remodelling the area in front of the entrance 
The longer we were living here the more we were fed up with our dark hall.
